BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio — A man charged with sexually assaulting a West Chester woman and robbing her of prescription drugs before fleeing to Kentucky is back in the state and being held on $1 million bond.
Police say it took them just a couple days after releasing a sketch to arrest Camron Wohl, 26, of Colerain Township, in Carrollton, Kentucky. He's accused of forcing himself into the 74-year-old woman's home on Tylersville Road May 31 to steal her pain medication.
Police say he started the crime by making small talk with the victim, saying her roof needed repairs. Police allege that when she turned around, the suspect grabbed her from behind, pulled out a knife and demanded prescription drugs before dragging her inside her home to rape her.
Wohl is charged with rape, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and kidnapping. He'll be in court at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Hamilton.
West Chester police told WCPO news partner The Journal-News that they not believe Wohl personally knew the victim, but they do believe she was targeted.
“It is real hard to believe that it was random,” said West Chester Police Lt. David Tivin the day Wohl was arrested.
Wohl likely saw the victim as an opportunity, he said.
“This is truly a stranger-danger situation,” Tivin said.
Wohl works in the West Chester Township area, according to Tivin.
