Here's where to get 99-cent gas on Thanksgiving

Posted

HEBRON, Ky. -- Hitting the road for your Thanksgiving feast? You might be able to get gas for less than $1 a gallon.

If you have the patience for the lines, anyway.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, the Hebron Corner Mart off Petersburg Road will be selling regular unleaded fuel for 99 cents per gallon.

Uktam Nigmatov, a manager, said it was the owner's idea to "do something good for community, for customers, for Thanksgiving Day, which is good."

In fact, Nigmatov said the owner tries to come up with a new way to let customers know they're appreciated every year.

(For some perspective, the Tri-State's average price right now is $1.84 a gallon -- so, given that gas stations typically only make a few cents per gallon profit, the owner will be eating about 80 cents per gallon of the cost.)

The Hebron Corner Mart has posted plenty of signs, so if you're going, expect a big crowd.

Employees hope the price cut will inspire others to do something nice this holiday season.
