FLORENCE, Ky. — A woman died in the hospital Monday morning after she was hit by a truck Friday evening, according to police.

Officials from the Florence Police Department wrote in a release that Rebecca Bolte, 57, was crossing the street Friday around 8 p.m. near the United Dairy Farmers at 6712 U.S. Route 25 in Florence when a pickup truck hit her. Police wrote that the driver of the truck did not see Bolte due to the "dark and rainy condition."

Emergency personnel took Bolte to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center to treat her wounds, but when she was at the hospital her condition worsened. Bolte's condition continued to decline as the weekend went on until she died Monday morning.

The Florence Police Department wrote they are still investigating the crash, but they don't think any criminal charges will come from the investigation.
