FLORENCE, Ky. -- An early morning tussle at the Turfway Grill and Bar sent a young married couple to the hospital while their accused attacker has been arrested on two charges of assault.

Frederick Mullins, 28, and Katelyn Mullins, 26, told police 49-year-old Robert Phelps came up behind Frederick while they were sitting at the bar and held a knife to his throat, cutting him on the neck.

They said Frederick pulled the knife away from his neck and struggled with Phelps to get the knife, getting wounded on the hand in the process. His wife Katelyn tried to help stop Phelps and received a laceration to her arm.

Florence EMS took the couple to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, and both are expected to make a full recovery.

Phelps was been arrested for assault in the first degree and assault in the second degree and transported to the Boone County Detention Center.
