DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A 4-year-old boy died Saturday evening after drowning in a pond near his home, the Warren County Sheriff's Office said.
The sheriff's office said crews responded to the 4300 block of South Shore Drive in Deerfield Township around 4 p.m. for reports of a child found in a pond.
Crews performed CPR on the child before transporting him to Cincinnati Children's Hospital. The child was pronounced dead at the hospital, the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's office has not identified the child yet or said how he ended up in the pond.
This is an ongoing investigation.
