CINCINNATI -- Blood donors of all types, especially Type O negative, are needed immediately by Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati.
Blood supply is below optimum levels, Hoxworth spokeswoman Alyssa Dailey wrote in a release.
Officials with Hoxworth are seeing a sharp decline in the local blood inventory due to sluggish donations, likely because of illness and inclement weather, according to the release.
The blood type with the lowest supply is O negative, with supplies 27 percent below normal. Blood Type A positive has supplies 21 percent below normal, type B negative’s supplies are 16 percent below normal and O positive supplies are 10 percent below normal.
To donate, you can call 513-451-0910 to make an appointment. Walk-ins are also accepted.
Hoxworth Blood Center has locations in Anderson Township, Blue Ash, Cincinnati, Fort Mitchell, Mason, Tri-County, Western Hills and at the University of Cincinnati.
