The unofficial results are in for the Hamilton County primary election

It was a long lead-up to the primaries, but the votes have been cast in Hamilton County, and here are the unofficial results from the Hamilton County Board of Election as of 6 a.m. Wednesday.

In the race for sheriff, Charmaine McGuffey beat Sheriff Jim Neil for the Democratic nomination for county sheriff. McGuffey will go up against Bruce Hoffbauer for the position.

Alicia Reece beat Connie Pillich and Kelli Prather in the Democratic county commissioner's primary race.

Issue 7, the proposed sales tax increase to support public transit, passed by about 600 votes.

Kate Schroder beat Nikki Foster to win the Democratic nomination for the 1st District representative. She will go up against Representative Steve Chabot.

For the Democratic presidential nomination, Joe Biden, running unopposed at this point, won the majority of delegates in the county.

Votes are still being counted, and all ballots received in the mail until May 8 will be added to the official totals.
