CINCINNATI -- First-year students at Xavier University can look forward to a warm welcome Thursday as more than 1,000 freshman start moving in at 7:30 a.m.

This marks the eighth consecutive year that Xavier's freshman class has topped 1,000 students. Volunteers and student involvement team members will be on hand to help the new students unload and get acclimated through orientation programs.

Moving into college can also be a stressful time as Xavier senior Carson Korn understands. He's one of the student involvement coordinators.

"Nerves are high here coming in, but that’s what we’re here for,” Korn said. “My biggest piece of advice would be to take on campus and take on everything it has to offer and really get involved … we’re going to tell them about everything Xavier has to offer and hopefully get them involved in a few things."
