CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati’s Saturday game against the University of Tulsa has been rescheduled for early December due to COVID-19 cases at UC, the American Athletic Conference announced Thursday morning.

“We knew this season was going to require a lot of patience and flexibility and disruptions were likely to happen,” Cincinnati athletic director John Cunningham wrote in a statement. “The health and safety of student-athletes, coaches and staff is always our primary focus and we appreciated the outstanding work and continued dedication of our medical staff throughout the pandemic."

The game has been rescheduled for Dec. 5.

The AAC’s news release mentions that student-athletes have been quarantined as a result of COVID-19 diagnoses on campus but does not clarify whether these athletes are, in fact, COVID-19 positive.

UC’s pandemic dashboard lists 676 positive student diagnoses since Aug. 17, meaning the virus has been detected in about 1% of its approximately 46,000 students.
