ROSS TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Ross Township man has been charged with allegedly shooting road signs last month in the township.

Tyler Stamm, 24 of Millville-Shandon Road, was in Hamilton Municipal Court Friday for arraignment on charges of criminal damaging and discharging a firearm in a prohibited premises, both first-degree misdemeanors, said Ross Township Capt. Jack Tremain.

Signs were damaged by gunfire in the area of Layhigh, Kirchling and Millville-Shandon roads during the past several weeks of December, according to police. Residents called police after discovering the damage and several shell casings from different locations, the Journal-News reports.

“This is a young man who made a very bad decision,” Tremain said.

He added two firearms used in the vandalism were confiscated from Stamm’s residence. Stamm is scheduled to be back in court Feb. 22 for a pre-trial hearing.
