GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A suspect in a gas station robbery attempted to take an officer's gun after being arrested, according to Green Township police.

Someone robbed the Shell gas station at 5394 North Bend Rd. at about 7:09 a.m., brandishing a firearm and demanding cash. The person then ran out of the store and got into a waiting vehicle.

While responding to the scene, an officer spotted a vehicle matching the description of the getaway car and stopped it on Boomer Road. Police took three suspects into custody and charged two with aggravated robbery: 18-year-old Anthony Tremble and 24-year-old Earl Bowens. The third person was released.

Police said they found money and a semi-automatic handgun in the vehicle.

While the arrested officers were processing Tremble, he was able to unsecure his hand and attempted to grab an officer's gun from the officer's holster, police said. However, the officers were ablt to re-secure Tremble before he could take the gun.

Police charged Tremble with an additional count of aggravated robbery.

Tremble and Bowens were being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center.
