CINCINNATI -- Police charged a man after they said he damaged ceiling tiles at a hospital by trying to escape while he was being held as a prisoner/patient.

Brian Duncan, 35, of Addyston, was being treated at University of Cincinnati Medical Center Dec. 3 after he was arrested on drug possession and paraphernalia charges, according to court records.

Duncan was being treated because he told police that he had swallowed 3 grams of heroin while running from officers, police said in court records.

While in the hospital, Duncan tried to escape through the ceiling, according to court records. Police said he damaged ceiling tiles in the process.

Police added another charge of criminal damaging or endangering for Duncan after the attempted escape, according to court records.
