SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Police charged a man with aggravated murder in the death of his ex-girlfriend.

Kourash Kiana, 26, fatally shot Kenesha Moore on Feb. 9, according to Springfield Township police.

Authorities previously said that a man shot Moore, 21, at about 9:55 p.m. He then drove away and abandoned his car. When a canine officer tracked him down, Kiana shot himself but he survived.

Kiani was hospitalized. Police said they did not have any updates on his condition available.

Moore was a Fairfield High School graduate who had recently enrolled at Miami University, where she planned to study theater.

Her mother, Tonya Moore, previously said "people gravitated" toward her daughter’s outgoing personality and her strong will.

"I think she touched everybody’s heart," Tonya said. "And she took a piece of mine."
