FLORENCE, Ky. -- A 32-year-old Cincinnati man has died after being struck twice by two separate vehicles on Dixie Highway.

At about 10:05 p.m. Monday, Nicholas Arthur was walking with friends in the 8200 block of southbound U.S. Route 25. Police said he separated from them to another part of the road when an unknown vehicle struck him, leaving him lying on the road. 

Police said a second vehicle then hit Arthur as he was lying on the road. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, where he was pronounced dead.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Unit is investigating the collision and request that anyone with information on identity of the driver or occupants of the hit-and-run vehicle to call the Boone County Sheriff’s Office at 859-334-2175 or Crime Stoppers at 513-852-3040.

Arthur's family has been notified.
