CINCINNATI -- A Franklin man pleaded guilty Wednesday to receiving child pornography.

Brandon Spicer faces between five and 20 years in prison for the crime.

Spicer was one of the suspects identified during a nationwide investigation into the dark-web child porn site called "The Playpen," as the 9 On Your Side I-Team previously reported.

Users of the site had to take multiple steps to register for the site and access the materials, authorities said.

The FBI searched Spicer's home in July 2015 and found more than 600 images on his computer and cell phone depicting children under 12 being sexually assaulted and abused by adult men, authorities said.

Sentencing has not yet been scheduled.

Trial scheduled

The case is still playing out in court for another of the local suspects arrested in connection to the "Playpen" investigation.

Richard Stamper, of Fairfield, has been indicted on charges of possessing and receiving child pornography. Earlier this month, a judge denied his request for the government to turn over secret surveillance techniques investigators used to identify him and the other defendants.

Stamper's trial is now scheduled for July.
