FAIRFIELD TWP., Ohio - A couple going through a divorce died in an apparent murder-suicide over the weekend, police said Monday.
James Welber, 53, apparently shot and killed his wife, 52-year-old Rebecca Welber, then shot himself, according to Fairfield Township police.
A police officer and a sheriff's deputy discovered the bodies in their home in the 5800 block of Brooke Meadows Court around noon Saturday. They had arrived to do a welfare check after James Welber had missed work the previous two days, according to a police report.
Air Care transported James Welber to University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he died from a single gunshot to the head. Rebecca Welber was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds. A 9mm Glock handgun was recovered at the scene,
