CINCINNATI -- A Cincinnati man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexual exploitation of children, federal authorities in Idaho announced Wednesday.

Timothy Raymond Schmidt, 35, admitted to using Skype to communicate with two teenage victims in Idaho while he was living in Ohio from January to April 2015, according to his plea agreement. Schmidt repeatedly got both victims to engage in sexually explicit conduct over the video chat.

Adult relatives of the victims discovered what was happening and reported it to their local sheriff's office, authorities said. Idaho and federal authorities investigated the case.

Last year, Schmidt pleaded guilty in Brown County, Ohio to charges related to sexual activity with a minor. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison in that case.

In addition to the new prison sentence, Schmidt will have to register as a sex offender and will face a lifetime of supervised release.
