Fiona the hippo has been a bright spot of hope and joy in an otherwise dismal year.
She and her human friends at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden overcame overwhelming odds after she was born prematurely. Her story has inspired millions around the world, and Fionamania is still going strong at the one-year mark.
