Hoping to see Marvel's "Avengers: Endgame" when it opens Friday April 26?
Don't wait: Many showings are already sold out, and some scalpers are asking hundreds of dollars for tickets, in some cases several thousand dollars.
The Hollywood Reportersays the final Avengers movie could have the biggest opening weekend ever, beating out Infinity Wars and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Someone paid $5,000 for two tickets in New York City opening night, according to reports.
And most popular showing times are already sold out at theaters nationwide.
How to find tickets
We checked Cincinnati area movie theaters, and found just scattered single seats, and various front row seats, for "Avengers: Endgame" showings Friday and Saturday at the Cinemark theaters in Oakley, Western Hills, and Milford.
The best availability was at 12:30 a.m. showings.
The Hollywood Reporter suggests:
- Look for additional show times in the early morning or late at night.
- Some theaters are adding 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. shows and late night shows well after midnight.
- Or wait till Monday, April 29, when you should still be able to get decent seats.
One problem for theaters is that "Endgame" runs three hours, plus previews, they cannot schedule as many showings as a typical two-hour movie.
So if you don't have tickets yet you may need to wait a week, so you don't waste your money.
