Recent school shootings, workplace shootings, and terrorist attacked showed the power of smartphones during a crisis.

It was how many people alerted police, and how family members were able to learn that loved ones were safe.

Which may have you wondering: What's the best way to be warned of trouble, a terrorist attack, or bad weather about to hit?
