More than a million bicycles, from a dozen different brands, are on the recall list, because the front wheel could lock up or even fall off.
The recall affects only bikes with the newer disc brakes, made by Giant, Specialized, Diamondback, Raleigh, and Cannondale, among others.
The quick release lever can hit the brake rotor, causing the front wheel to suddenly stop.
