CINCINNATI — Officers from all over the country came together Saturday and honored fallen officers at the 48th annual Police Memorial Softball National Championship.

Teams of police officers from places like Louisville, Kentucky and Detriot, Michigan, faced off at the River City East Sports Complex Saturday morning. The officers honored all those officers who gave their lives to protect their communities, including Detective Bill Brewer and Officer Sonny Kim.

The officers are aware of the danger and stress of their job, some say days like today help them take it easy.

"Definitely helps me decompress," Officer Dan McIntyre from Woodridge, Illinois, said. "This gives us an outlet to kind of let go of some of the stuff we might be suppressing during the course of our daily activities."
