The past year brought us an $85 leather-wrapped rock and $425 jeans covered in fake mud from Nordstrom.

Now, Spanish luxury fashion house Balenciaga is stepping past that with its $795 intentionally ugly (and pre-dirty) Triple S sneakers.

And they're "the hottest ones in the game," according to the arbiters of male fashion at GQ.

"Ugly sneakers have been trending all year, but the 'Triple S' sneakers take that concept to the extreme," GQ correspondent Jake Woolf wrote. "Their upper looks like the kind of running sneakers a man in his later years would wear for maximum arch support, and their hiking-inspired laces would be more at home on a pair of all-weather boots. Their soles, easily the kicks' wildest design feature, are like rubber layer cakes that create a platform at the heel that's a good two inches tall, and extends at least and inch away from the pull tab you'd use to actually pull yourself into these mountain-like shoes."

If you've got to get your hands on a pair, GQ says they'll be available on Sept. 21. Read more on the original GQ article here.
