ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University students just made a national list -- but it’s not one their parents would be proud of.
The Athens-based school topped the list of Playboy’s annual “Top Party Schools.”
The longtime adult magazine said it’s the first time Ohio has taken the top honors and the fourth time OU has been included in the rankings.
The list will be released in the magazines October 2015 issue that goes on newsstands on Sept. 18.
The dubious top 10 list includes:
- Ohio University
- University of Iowa
- Florida State University
- Tulane University
- University of Illinois
- University of Texas
- Syracuse University
- University of Wisconsin
- University of Mississippi
- University of Michigan
The magazine said its editors used a “variety of factors” in the selection process including: access to nightlife and musical events, and creativity when planning social gatherings.
It also included feedback from a reader’s poll and Playboy’s 28 million social media fans. The magazine pulled data from the National Center for Education Statistics, the NCAA, and the US Economic Census too.
Last year the University of Pennsylvania was crowned at the top party school. The list first appeared in the magazine’s January 1987 issue.
