CINCINNATI — A homespun folk festival traditionally held in Friendship, Indiana is relocating to the Queen City this summer.

The Whispering Beard Folk Fest will take place at Smale Park, Aug. 22-24. Organizers expect 15,000 people will attend the event featuring a lineup of mostly local folk musicians, according to a press release.

The first Whispering Beard took place in Friendship, Indiana in 2011. Blue Ash-based Fretboard Brewing Co. is the primary sponsor and partner of the newly relocated event.

Fretboard will promote the festival with a series of live music events this summer inside its taproom located at 5800 Creek Road in Blue Ash.

Whispering Beard's organizers will post the festival's full musical lineup on the festival's website by the end of April.

Three-day tickets purchased before the lineup is announced cost $80. The same tickets purchased online after the announcement will cost $99. Three-day tickets purchased the day the festival begins will cost $120.

Single-day tickets cost between $25-$55 depending on the day and time of purchase.
