MASON, Ohio — A family-run restaurant is donating meals to people on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mason franchise owner Beth Heydt said the restaurant is committed to helping healthcare workers, grocery store employees and first responders. Chicken Salad Chick has delivered meals to local hospitals like UC Health in West Chester.

Heydt, along with her daughters Kristen and Kendall, have been busy with online orders and drive-thru pickups in the last few weeks.

"The response has been amazing,” Heydt said. “We had our whole week filled up within the first two days."

The restaurant also offers delivery options in certain neighborhoods. They establish a pick up location in a neighborhood, so people can get their food at one spot.

Kristen Vander Hulst said it’s been a blessing to work with her family during this time.

“We all get to work together, and we have so much fun,” she said. “It's a little stressful being in a new time and everything, but everyone's support has been amazing.”
