The threat of snow, sleet and freezing rain around the morning commute caused Dec. 13 to be declared as a 9 First Warning Weather Alert Day.
Sleet and freezing rain were detected around 7 a.m. south of I-275 in northern Kentucky along with reports of sleet from Union and Florence, Kentucky. Farther north, light to moderate snow started falling in Cincinnati and continued to spread to the north.
