CINCINNATI – Columbia Parkway commuters, take note: If you want to stay out of traffic Friday, use another route.
Two westbound lanes of Columbia Parkway will remain closed through rush hour Friday morning due to soil spilling over a retaining wall near William Howard Taft Road.
Eastbound lanes were also temporarily closed for clearing dirt, but were later reopened.

The spillage began early Thursday morning in the area just west of where Torrence Parkway and William Howard Taft Road meet at Columbia Parkway.
"Mother nature is impossible to predict,” Cincinnati City Manager Harry Black said. "Mudslides are an ongoing concern we monitor year round. We will pursue caution and take steps to keep the area safe for motorists."
Staff from the Department of Public Services and engineers from the Department of Transportation of Engineering said they will remain on the scene throughout the evening to monitor the site and take appropriate safety precautions.
