CINCINNATI -- Beechmont Avenue was closed near Corbly Street for a time Wednesday morning because of a suspicious device.
A maintenance worker found the device at an apartment complex off Beechmont.
A hazardous devices unit was called to the scene. Firefighters were not sure if the item was hazardous and decided to detonate it to err on the side of caution.
Areas around the apartment were blocked, but the roads were reopened by 12:30 p.m.
