Cincinnati Police announced an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run in Linwood that claimed the life of a prominent local defense attorney in the early hours of Nov. 1.

On Wednesday night, 22-year-old Brandon Marksberry was arrested for his alleged involvement in the death of 55-year-old Steven Adams.

Authorities said Adams, a one-time assistant Hamilton County prosecutor, was riding his bicycle on Eastern Avenue around 6:35 a.m. the morning of Nov. 1 when police allege Marksberry struck Adams and then fled the scene.

Marksberry is charged with a third degree felony related to Adams’ death. Marksberry, who appeared in court Thursday morning, was lodged in the Hamilton County Jail and issued a $500,000 bond. He is set to appear in court next on Nov. 23.
