Doctors always suggest anyone planning time out doors use sunscreen. But sunscreen is especially valuable for patients on some common prescription and over-the-counter drugs. The reason? Dr. Bret Coldiron of the Skin Cancer Center says hose drugs may increase your skin's sensitivity to sun. Dr. Coldiron says some of the most commonly sun-sensitive drugs include certain antibiotics, some types of anxiety medications, and some ibuprofen medicines. Doctors recommend sunscreen for those patients. If you're on some of the listed medications but have questions, as always, check with your doctor.
