Thousands of people train for months to participate in the Flying Pig Marathon and Half-Marathon each year in Cincinnati.
For many, the dedication it takes to complete the race can be transformative, and everyone has a reason for why they sacrifice so much time and push their bodies to participate.
WCPO wants to know: What motivates you to run or walk the Pig? Please fill out the form below and share your story.
We're also looking for people to participate in a related audio project. If you're interested, please call 513-852-4122 and leave a voicemail message about why you run or walk the Pig. (Please keep it under 60 seconds.) After a brief pause, please tell us:
- Your name
- Your neighborhood
- The number of Flying Pigs you've completed (specify full or half)
- What drives you to run or walk the Pig?
- Your telephone number (we won't publish your number; we'll use it only to contact to follow up for the story.)
Example: My name is Brian Mains, from Covington. I'm running my sixth Flying Pig marathon this year. I ran my first Pig in 2011 before I turned 35 because I wanted to lose weight and prove to myself that I could. I continue to run the Pig because the months of training remind me how small steps and dedication can lead to bigger things. I have also met some of the best people and friends to run with along the way. My number is 513-000-0000.
