CINCINNATI – With support around Cincinnati’s new professional soccer team, FC Cincinnati, building up for their debut next year, Cincinnati’s first professional soccer team, the Cincinnati Saints, announced they were disbanding Friday.
When we started, we wanted to do two things: We wanted a club that served the community & brought the highest level of soccer to our city

Sadly, after talking with our business partners & surveying the new soccer landscape, we determined that we couldn't continue, in Cincinnati

We want to thank you, from the bottoms of our hearts. You have been with us for years. Together we made soccer relevant in Cincinnati

Soccer has a great future in Cincinnati. It is time for someone else to carry the torch. Thank you for carrying it with us, since 2009

The Saints were founded in 2009 by a group of local soccer players from local and regional leagues who wanted to build up an amateur team into a professional team.
The Saints wrote on Twitter that their women’s team was sold to their league, the WPSL, and will continue to play in Cincinnati under a new name.
There has also been discussion of moving the men's team to Dayton, they wrote.
