Kevin Taylor was named the St. Xavier hockey coach Wednesday.

Taylor, the St. X junior varsity hockey coach from 2009 to 2015, brings a wealth of experience to the hockey program through his involvement with the Cincinnati Amateur Hockey Association.

“I'm looking forward to the upcoming season and being able to take the reins of the St. Xavier hockey program and keep it strong and growing,” Taylor said. “Taking a role like this offers new challenges and great opportunities," said Taylor.

Taylor, originally from Waterloo, Ontario, is the Global Professional and Technical Affairs manager for Procter and Gamble.

“My job will be to chart the course of St. X hockey for future generations of Bomber hockey players,” Taylor said. “My goal is to have a positive impact on the program, the players and my staff. We have to remember that this is all about the journey, not the destination.”

Taylor takes over for Jason Kamp who was the head coach last year.  Kamp pursued a life outside of the classroom and ice hockey rink, according to St. Xavier.
