Anderson guard commits to junior college

Anderson senior 6-foot-3 guard DeAnthony McCallum has committed to play basketball at Independence (Kansas) Community College, according to Anderson boys’ basketball coach Chris DeLotell.

McCallum, the Eastern Cincinnati Conference co-player of the year this past season, averaged 20.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.9 assists for Anderson.

He scored 30 or more points four times this past season. He had a season-high 33 points against Turpin Jan. 29.

He visited the junior college campus the weekend of April 22.
