COLUMBUS -- Ohio State redshirt sophomore defensive end Sam Hubbardis an ESPN Preseason All-Big Ten selection.
Hubbard, a 2014 Moeller graduate, was named a starting defensive endby Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer Monday.
Hubbard was a Freshman All-American selection in 2015 when he recorded 28 tackles, including eight tackles for loss plus 6 ½ sacks. He earned the start in the 2015 opener against Virginia Tech and was a key backup in the final 12 games for the 12-1 Buckeyes.
Hubbard has also made an impact off the field as he’s earned two OSU Scholar-Athlete honors and an Academic All-Big Ten honor pursuing his degree in finance. He spent three days this summer as a Goldman Sachs intern in New York City.
Ohio State opens the season Sept. 3 against visiting Bowling Green at noon at Ohio Stadium.
