The Ohio high school football season starts Wednesday night with the state’s first game (Summit Country Day vs. Purcell Marian) at the University of Cincinnati’s Sheakley Athletics Center.

WCPO sports director John Popovich, WCPO.com high school reporter Mike Dyer and TriStateFootball.com’s Greg Shoemaker preview some of the top games and offer their observations.

And while the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown kicks into high gear across the city this weekend, we also analyze the Week 0 results from Northern Kentucky last week and give you a glimpse into the Southeastern Indiana perspective too.

Plus, you will hear insight from OHSAA Assistant Commissioner Jerry Snodgrass on high school basketball, the shot clock debate, the baseball pitch count rule and how he coached Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, a former Miami University standout, at Findlay High School.
