The Turpin Spartans dominated offensively and defensively Friday night, blowing out the Glen Este Trojans 41-7 and remaining undefeated on the season.

After leading 6-0 at the end of the first quarter, Turpin (9-0) opened up a 41-0 lead with 7:10 remaining in the third. The Spartan defense held Glen Este (1-8) scoreless all the way until the fourth quarter.

Turpin quarterback Lucas Smith led the team’s offense through the air on 11 of 22 passing, two touchdowns and 210 yards. He also found success running the ball with 51 yards on six carries and another touchdown.

Receiver Jack Campbell was one of Smith’s most successful targets, picking up 107 yards on three catches and scoring one touchdown late in the second quarter, bringing his team to 27-0 going into halftime.

The Spartan defense held the Trojan’s quarterback Evan Shirley in check the whole night, limiting him to 65 yards on five of 13 passing and picking him off two times.

Glen Este’s running back Aaron Johnston, who gained 110 yards on the ground, was the lone bright spot for the team.

Turpin, in first place in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference Standings, travels to Loveland at 7 p.m. Oct. 28. Glen Este plays Milford at home  at the same date and time.
