CINCINNATI -- The St. Xavier and La Salle football teams are ranked in the top 30 nationally by the MaxPreps computer rankings Sunday.

St. Xavier is ranked No. 21 as the Bombers (9-5) prepare to play No. 8-ranked Cleveland St. Ignatius (13-1) in a Division I state final at 8 p.m. Friday at Ohio Stadium.

The Bombers are just the second team in Ohio history to play in a state final with five losses. St. X is making its first state final appearance since it won in Canton in 2007.

La Salle (12-2) is ranked No. 26 nationally. The Lancers are trying to become the first team in Ohio history to win three consecutive Division II state titles.

The Lancers face Massillon Perry (12-2) for a second straight year, after romping to a 42-0 victory last year. The game is 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Ohio Stadium.

WCPO.com will have full coverage leading up to both games and in Columbus Thursday and Friday nights.

Time Warner Cable SportsChannel will broadcast all of the football state championship games. Beginning this year, games will be available statewide to TWC customers on channel 311 (or 510 former Insight areas) as well as on the TWCTV app and TWCSportsChannel.com.
