Posted

DAYTON, Ky. -- Bellevue had been shut out four straight weeks, but on Friday it was the Tigers holding their opponent off the scoreboard in one of the region's biggest rivalry games.

Cameron Chase scored three touchdowns as Bellevue blanked Dayton, 31-0 on Friday. Chase rushed 28 times for 188 yards and two TDs, and he caught a pair of passes for 64 yards and another score.

Quarterback Tucker Thomas went 4 of 6 passing for 103 yards and one touchdown. Nick Ackerson ran in the other TD for Bellevue on a 30-yard run.

While the bragging rights will be monumental (until next season, that is), the Bellevue team will also be congratulated by way of pizza, following a wager made between Northern Kentucky councilmen prior to the big game.

The Tigers, who outgained Dayton, 408-169, will visit Ludlow next week while Dayton faces Beechwood on the road.
