Bengals lose Marvin Jones, keep George Iloka

CINCINNATI -- So far, the Bengals have won one and lost one on the first day of free agency, according to reports.

Bengals WR Marvin Jones will sign with the Detroit Lions, according to ESPN's Dianna Russini and Ian Rapoport.

Jones and the Lions agreed to $8 million per year, the reporters tweeted Wednesday.

Meanwhile, safety George Iloka has agreed to re-sign with the Bengals, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Teams can start signing free agents at 4 p.m. ET.

Jones, 25, was the most coveted wide receiver in free agency, and the Lions quickly wrapped him up after  their best receiver, Calvin Johnson, announced his retirement Tuesday.

Jones had 65 receptions in 2015 for 812 yards (12.6 yards per catch) and four touchdowns. He was drafted by the Bengals in the fifth round in 2012 and caught 10 TD passes in 2013, including four in one game against the Jets. He injured his ankle and foot in 2014 and was out for the entire season.

Iloka, 25,  stepped into the starting safety job in 2013 after the Bengals drafted him in the fifth round in 2012. He had 35 tackles with 12 assists and one interception last year.
