CINCINNATI — With a 16-1 record so far for the 2015-2016 season, the Xavier Musketeers men’s basketball team is sitting high in numerous national polls, including a school-record No. 5 ranking in the AP Top 25 college basketball poll.

The Associated Press releases its top 25 every Monday. Xavier was ranked No. 7 last week before jumping to the school-best No. 5 this week, according to Xavier Athletics spokesman Tom Eiser.

Eiser said this is the fourth season the Musketeers have earned a spot in AP’s top 10 since 2008.

Xavier men’s basketball also ranked No. 6 in this week’s USA Today Coaches Poll, which Eiser said tied the school’s record.

XU is also ranked No. 5 in both the CBS Sports and NBC Sports polls.

The Musketeers are 4-1 in the Big East, and will host Georgetown Tuesday night.
