CINCINNATI -- Former Elder and Xavier basketball player Pat Kelsey is no longer taking a job as the University of Massachusetts head coach, ESPN reported.
UMass had announced Kelsey as their new head coach Tuesday, saying he had "a detailed plan for every phase of our program..."
Kelsey, 41, coached Winthrop University to the NCAA Tournament this season. The team had a 201-59 record during his five seasons there. He also previously served as the associate head coach at Xavier for two seasons and as an assistant at Wake Forest under Skip Prosser for eight seasons.
