It seems as though everyone who loves fall has their own harbingers that they watch for at the start of the season. For some, fiery leaves appearing on the trees signals autumn. For others, it might be birds flying off as they migrate south. But for fall-loving foodies, the best signs of the season are the tasty goodies that only show up on store shelves at this time of the year.

Pepperidge Farm has announced that its favorite fall flavors are back in stock. Along with irresistible Pumpkin Spice Milano Cookies, the American commercial bakery brand is busy baking loaves of Pumpkin Spice Swirl bread and delivering them to retailers across the country.

Although baking bread has become a social media trend during the COVID-19 quarantine, Pepperidge Farm has been doing it since the 1940s and knows a thing or two about what it takes to whip up a truly delicious loaf every time. When it comes to their Pumpkin Spice Swirl bread, that means thick slices with a rich swirl of cinnamon and brown sugar that is evident in every scrumptious bite.

Every time the brand announces the bread on social media, such as this tweet from a few years back showing all three of their currently available pumpkin-flavored favorites, the comments vary greatly.

“Yum, finally,” Shelly Marie Scott commented on a Facebook post. “I love pumpkin treats!!”

“The pumpkin spice bread with cinnamon sugar butter is amazing,” said Melissa Fields.

“I love the pumpkin spice swirl bread with peanut butter,” Suzanne Swierkowski said on the thread. “Such a great snack or breakfast.”

And can you imagine how good it would taste made into French toast? Drool.

Fortunately for pumpkin spice lovers, there are a vast amount of fall-inspired treats out there, including beer that sounds like it would wash this bread down well: Harpoon Dunkin’ Pumpkin, a pumpkin pie-flavored ale. Sam Adams also makes pumpkin beer. Other drinks that might complement this bread perfectly: pumpkin spice hard seltzer and the original, available now: Starbucks’ pumpkin spice latte.

Of course, some people are staunchly anti-pumpkin spice, which is fine with most pumpkin fans who think, “Hey, more for us!”

Pumpkin Spice Swirl bread should be on retail shelves now through November, so keep an eye out. You can also look for locations near you on the Pepperidge Farm website.
