Patrick Phillips is the senior manager of digital content at WCPO 9 News.

He is honored to lead WCPO’s team of talented digital journalists and oversee the station’s website, news app, streaming app and social media channels.

Before joining the WCPO team, he spent nearly 20 years at WCSC-TV in Charleston, where he developed their in-house web efforts and led the team through stories that received national attention, including the 2007 Sofa Super Store fire that claimed nine Charleston firefighters, the 2015 Charleston church shooting and the murder trial of prominent South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh.

Under his leadership, the station’s website earned numerous awards from the Associated Press, the Radio, Television, Digital News Association, and the South Carolina Broadcasters Association. In 2025, the team won a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award.

He started his television career in his native Columbia nearly 35 years ago while he was still a student at the University of South Carolina. He also worked in Richmond, Virginia, and previously worked a range of jobs from reporter to director to marketing producer.

Patrick lives in Cincinnati where he is exploring a new city with his Collie. He spends his free time enjoying classic movies and TV shows and trying out restaurants around the area.
