CINCINNATI — Have trouble ice skating? That won't be a problem when the UC Health Ice Rink, presented by Fifth Third Bank, opens Nov. 7 on Fountain Square.

This year the ice rink will feature 16 new bumper cars alongside skate rentals.

"Bumper cars will be a unique, fun addition to the rink in a year that (has) given us a lot of challenges and forced us to pivot from traditional events and activities,” said Christy Samad, senior vice president of event management for 3CDC in a press release. "We believe these bumper cars will become another winter tradition for families to enjoy for many years."

The bumper cars will operate on the ice rink alongside skaters seven days a week from Nov. 7 through the end of the rink's season on Feb. 15. The cars will be available to adults and children age 7 and older.

The ice rink also will introduce new skating procedures to keep visitors safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. The rink's operators, 3CDC, will allow no more than 80 people on the ice at a given time and visitors will need to make a reservation for when they can hit the ice.
