Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich likely won't be challenging President Donald Trump in the Republican primary next year.

As reported by The Hill, Kasich said in an interview on CNN Friday that he's never gotten involved in a political race where he didn't think he could win, and that Trump has support from "90 percent" of the Republican Party.

"There is no path right now for me," he said. "I don't see a way to get there."

Kasich sought the Republican nomination in 2016 and was the last GOP candidate challenging Trump by the time he stepped down from the race. He's remained critical of the president since then, and as recently as December was reportedly looking into making another presidential bid.

Since leaving office in January, the two-term Ohio governor signed with a talent agent and has been appearing on CNN as a political commentator.
