PD: Amber Alert over after abduction of 3 kids

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, Ohio – An Amber Alert issued Tuesday has been canceled after Ohio authorities said they found three east central Ohio children who were reported as abducted.

The alert was temporarily issued for the following areas: Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Holmes, Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas and Wayne counties.

Police said the mother of the children, Tara Rooks, abducted them from a home at 5620 Butterridge Road in Lawrence Township, Ohio at 5:15 p.m. on Feb. 8. Lawrence Township is about three-and-a-half hours northeast of Cincinnati.

Authorities said Rooks attempted suicide in the past and has made threats of suicide in the Stark County, Ohio area. She was driving a grey 2011 Kia Soul with Ohio plate FZH3275, according to police.

The children are named are: Brayden Rooks, Carter Rooks and Colton Rooks. Brayden is 10 years old, weighs 85 pounds and has blonde hair and green eyes. Carter is 6 years old, weighs 70 pounds and has brown hair. Colton is 12 years old, weighs 100 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Rooks is 38 years old, weighs 175 pounds and has blonde hair and brown eyes.

Police said the children were located safely, but have not said if Rooks was arrested or taken into custody.
