FRANKFORT, Ky. -- A Covington man was sentenced to nearly 18 years in prison Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to the distribution of child porn.

Joseph Andrew Morgan Oldani, 30, was arrested last summer and charged with 100 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of failing to comply with the conditions of being a registered sex offender from another state, according to Attorney General Andy Beshear.

In addition to his sentence of 214 months in prison, Oldani will be registered as a lifetime sex offender, and he must pay restitution to the victims.

He has outstanding warrants in Oregon for a previous sex crime conviction, which he will face after his release from federal prison. He moved to Kentucky using a false name to avoid registering as a sex offender and detection by authorities.

Since Jan. 4, Beshear’s Cyber Crimes Unit has arrested or convicted 27 sexual predators.
