Statewide Amber Alert issued for Indiana boy believed to be in 'extreme danger'

Update: The boy has been found, and he is safe. The Amber Alert has been canceled as of 9:10 a.m. Thursday. 

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Officials have issued a statewide Amber Alert for a 9-year-old boy who could be in “extreme danger.”

John D. Gyuriak was last seen at 11 p.m. Wednesday in South Bend, which is about 139 miles north of Indianapolis. He is 4'1'' tall and 70 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes and a scar above his right eye.

He was last seen wearing a red Chicago Bulls jersey with “Rose #1” on the back and black Under Armor athletic shorts with a white stripe.

The suspect, 29-year-old Areca Nicole Gyuriak, is 5'0'' tall and about 90 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue tank top and black yoga pants. She is driving a 2008 Dodge Charger.
